Registration Questions

How do I register for the conference?

Registration for the Conference will open in February 2018.

I am unable to attend the conference and already paid. Can I get a refund or send someone else in my place?

Registrations can be cancelled and refunded until May 23rd, less a $100 administration fee. After May 23rd, no refunds will be given for cancelled registrations. You may send someone else in your place if you are unable to attend. Please contact Leslie Ofori at [email protected] for more information.

2018 Conference Questions

When is the 2018 ASHEcon Conference?

The 2018 ASHEcon Conference will be held Sunday, June 10 through Wednesday, June 13 in Atlanta, Georgia at Emory University. The conference session and events  will be held at the Emory Conference Center and Hotel and Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health.

What is the theme for the 2018 ASHEcon Conference?

The theme of this year’s conference is Economics and Public Health and aims to provide a forum for emerging ideas and empirical results of health economics research to be showcased and discussed.
We hope that applicants will submit abstracts that are relevant to the field of health economics and demonstrate rigorous theoretical and empirical research methodologies.

How will I know if I’ve been added to an organized session?

Once added to a session, all organized  session presenters will receive an email  noting that they should either enter or review their abstract submission.

How many sessions will be at the conference this year?

We do not have a tally of sessions at this time.

What program areas will be represented at the conference?

There will be 15 program areas represented at the conference.

Do I have to register online for the conference?

While onsite registration will be provided, we encourage everyone to register for the conference online. All registrations must be completed at ASHEcon.org. Registrations can be made using Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express cards. Domestic checks can be mailed to the AHEcon office at 1100 Vermont Ave NW, Suite #650, Washington, DC 20005. We cannot accept foreign money orders or bank transfers from individuals. Please note that during the registration process, you will be given opportunity to print an invoice for your registration. You must send that invoice, along with your payment, to the ASHEcon office.

Do all attendees need to register for the conference?

Yes, all attendees must register for the Conference, regardless of whether they are participating or attending in sessions and events. Everyone presenting a paper  or poster must register and pay for the conference. ASHEcon requires everyone presenting papers on panels to register by April 14. ASHEcon reserves the right to remove/replace papers from the conference if panelists do not register by this date.

Will there be volunteer opportunities for the 2018 ASHEcon Conference?

Yes, there will be volunteer opportunities for students. We will be seeking volunteers for both editorial and general assistance at the conference.  Please contact Leslie Ofori , [email protected], for more details on these opportunities.

What meals are included in the registration rate?

Sunday: Light snack will be served during the coffee break and hors d’oeurves at the Opening Reception.

Monday:  Light snack will be served during the coffee break. Although the Membership Luncheon is included in registration, space is limited. Tickets can be reserved during registration online. Boxed lunches will also be provided.

Tuesday:  Light snack will be served during the coffee break. Although the Plenary Luncheon is included in registration, space is limited. Tickets can be reserved during registration online. Boxed lunches will also be provided. Hors d’oeurves will be served at the Poster Reception.

Wednesday:  Light snack will be served during the coffee break.

What is the location of the pre-conference workshops?

Pre-conference workshops will be held at the Rollins School of Public Health.

Where will the concurrent sessions be located on campus?

  • Concurrent sessions and pre-conference workshops will be held in various classrooms in two buildings:
    • Emory Conference Center and Hotel
    • Rollins School of Public Health

Where will the registration table be located?

The registration table will be located in the lobby of the Emory Conference Center.
