News from the Executive Director

Anthony Lo Sasso

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the latest issue of our newsletter! There is much planning and preparation happening at ASHEcon these days. We are of course very excited about the upcoming ASHEcon meeting June 10-13, 2018 at Emory University in Atlanta. Now is great time to get your abstracts and sessions submitted! The deadline is December 1, 2017. Please visit the call for abstracts page to learn more.

If you or your institution is looking for a way to get involved with the meeting, we have many sponsorship and advertising opportunities! This is a great way to get your name out there and support a great organization at the same time! Click here for details.

Also, be on the lookout for our call for scientific reviewers. Those hundreds of abstracts you’re submitting all need to be reviewed. Thanks in advance!

We are also excited about the upcoming Allied Social Science Association meetings in Philadelphia. For those of you planning on attending the ASSA meetings, we will be hosting our annual ASHEcon Luncheon Friday January 5, 2018 at 12:30pm. Our very special speaker will be University of Minnesota Professor and ASPE-nominee Steve Parente. His talk is called Market-based Health Reform: The Undiscovered Country.

In addition to the luncheon, ASHEcon and iHEA are co-sponsoring our annual cocktail reception for Members and Friends. This event will be held Friday January 5, 6:00pm. Please stop by to say hello! Please visit the ASHEcon at ASSA registration page to learn more and register.

There are also a huge number of health economics sessions at the meeting—including the first official ASHEcon session! Here’s link to all the sessions.

As always, we welcome your input and comments on our newsletter. If you have anything you would like say or ideas for content, we welcome input from our members!

Thanks for your continued support of ASHEcon!
