Human Capital and Health Behaviour symposium in Gothenburg

HUMAN CAPITAL AND HEALTH BEHAVIOUR
Gothenburg, Sweden, 19-20 May, 2016

The Centre for Health Economics at the University of Gothenburg (CHEGU) will organize an international symposium on Human Capital and Health Behaviour, on the 19-20 May, 2016. The symposium will cover both theoretical and empirical aspects of the topic.

The number of participants is limited to 50. There will be some twelve 40-minutes presentations and plenary sessions only. No conference fee is required for attendance. CHEGU will provide for lodging and meals (including a symposium dinner) but will not reimburse travel costs to and from Gothenburg. However, some contribution to travel costs will be paid for paper presenters.

A selection of papers presented at the symposium will, after due peer reviews, be published in the series of Advances in Health Economics and Health Services Research; the scientific committee of the symposium will edit the volume, planned for publication in 2017. In case of more good papers than there would be space for in the programme, we would give priority to presenters who are willing to have
their papers published in the planned volume.

The scientific committee consists of Kristian Bolin (University of Gothenburg; chairperson), Michael Grossman (City University of New York and NBER), Dorte Gyrd Hansen (University of Southern Denmark), Tor Iversen (University of Oslo), Robert Kaestner(University of Illinois at Chicago and NBER), Björn Lindgren (Lund University and NBER), and Jody Sindelar (Yale University and NBER).

If you wish to participate and present a paper, please, send an abstract to the symposium secretary, Laura Pirhonen at Laura.Pirhonen@economics.gu.se before 15 September 2015 (note extended deadline), and indicate whether you would like to have your paper considered for publication in the planned volume of Advances in Health Economics and Health Services Research or only to be presented and discussed at the conference. Ms. Pirhonen will also answer any queries about the symposium that you might have.

You will be notified by 30 September whether the abstract is accepted. Final acceptance will be made on full papers only. Papers should be delivered to the symposium secretary no later than 15 March 2016; decisions will be made shortly after.
